Transport Fever 3 Vehicle List
The store lists 275+ vehicles across seven transport types; some of the developer's own pages round that up to more than 300. Each one has an introduction year and a retirement year, so what you can buy depends on when your map starts, anywhere from 1900 to 2020.

Named models you may be looking for
The developers have named only a handful of models publicly. Deluxe Edition vehicles have to be switched on as a mod when you start a new game, the same way as the pre-order ship.

Transport Fever 2 vehicles came back as free packs
Urban Games put six official packs on the mod.io hub on launch day, each adding early vehicles from the previous game. They are free and install from the in-game mod menu like any other mod.
- Early European Locomotives
- Early American Locomotives
- Early Asian Locomotives
- Early Wagons
- Early Road Vehicles
- Early Trams
Any mod that is not purely cosmetic switches achievements off for that save, so read the achievement rules before you add packs to a save you care about.
Track decides how fast a train can go
A fast locomotive is held to the limit of the track it runs on. There are three track tiers, each available from a set year, and the track upgrade tool lifts an existing line to a faster tier or adds catenary for electric trains without rebuilding it.
Simple

What to compare when you buy
The buy menu has a compare mode, and it matters more than in earlier games. Beyond top speed, power and capacity, vehicles now differ in loading speed, comfort, noise and pollution. Noise and pollution feed straight into the town ratings covered on the town growth page, and a poorly maintained vehicle gets louder, dirtier, slower and weaker. Maintenance buildings repair vehicles that pass within their range.
Two rules hold for every train: buy enough wagons, or the train is likely to run at a loss, and pick a locomotive and wagons with a similar top speed for cost-effective running.
